Fall in the Hole, or Go Through the Portal.
One of my teachers shared this passage from White Eagle of the Hopi Tribe.
I found it so profound that I wanted to share it with all of you today.
I can’t help but imagine that you’ll resonate with it too!
“This moment humanity is going through what can now be seen both as a portal and as a hole. The decision to fall into the hole or go through the portal is up to you.
If you repent of the problem and consume the news 24 hours a day, with little energy, nervous all the time, with pessimism, you will fall into the hole.
But if you take this opportunity to look at yourself, rethink life and death, take care of yourself and others, you will cross the portal.
Take care of your homes, take care of your body. Connect with your spiritual house.
When you are taking care of yourselves, you are taking care of everything else. Do not lose the spiritual dimension of this crisis; have the Eagle aspect from above and see the whole; see more broadly.
There is a social demand in this crisis, but there is also a spiritual demand— the two go hand in hand. Without the social dimension, we fall into pessimism and lack of meaning. You were prepared to go through this crisis. Take your toolbox and use all the tools available to you.
Learn about resistance of the indigenous and African peoples; we have always been, and continue to be, exterminated. But we still haven’t stopped singing, dancing, lighting fires, and having fun. Don’t feel guilty about being happy during this difficult time.
You do not help at all being sad and without energy. You help if good things emanate from the Universe now. It is through joy that one resists.
Also, when the storm passes, each of you will be very important in the reconstruction of this new world.
You need to be well and strong. And for that, there is no other way than to maintain a beautiful, happy, and bright vibration.
Allow yourself to take advantage of this time to perform your vision-seeking rituals. What world do you want to build for you?
For now, this is what you can do—serenity in the storm.
Calm down. Pray. Meditate—every day. Establish a routine to meet the Sacred every day.
Good things emanate—what you emanate now is the most important thing. And sing, dance, resist through art, joy, faith and love.”
This passage reminds me of another quote in The Mystical Shaman Oracle—
"To be whole in your life’s journey, it is important to have deep roots and high branches. A tall tree with shallow roots falls in the first wind, but a tree with deep roots can weather any storm.”
So, what do we do with all this wisdom?
What’s one practical and subtle shift you can make today to support you in NOT falling in this hole?
I’ll share with you a simple framework I’m practicing right now as a part of my Shamanic studies. For those of you who are Light Workers, this won’t be new (there are many versions of it), but perhaps it is not actively conscious or practiced for you at this time:
Non-Judgment - If I assign judgment it takes me out of presence and reactivity.
Suffering is Optional - “Bad” things are happening all the time. How we choose to let them to affect us is within our control, even though the thing itself may not be in our control.
Non-Attachment - I’m really leaning into this one because I find that it amplifies my opportunities and creativity in times of chaos or supposed “contraction”. The less I attach to things the more quickly I can move toward something that may, in fact, be in my best interest.
Create Beauty - We can always create beauty in our lives, and I’m sure each of us has a multitude of examples of the little things that bring us so much joy! Use all your senses! See the beauty in life all around you, and be a creator of beauty too!
And, when all else fails, recite this Metta Bhavana Prayer a few times a day:
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I be free of suffering.
May I be free of mental anxiety.
May I live in peace.
May my life be blessed with ease.
Then, repeat it again twice—once replacing “I” with “You” and then with “We”.
May you gently glide through your portal…
with Light, Love & so much Joy!
Monique
